Cinco De MarshWalk | May 5^th

Get out and enjoy the scenic south end of Myrtle Beach with a little south of the border flare at Cinco de MarshWalk! This new event will span the entire length of the popular inlet-front MarshWalk and each local restaurant is getting in on the fun. Restaurants will feature festive food and drink specials along with live entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening. There will also be family events in the Wahoo’s parking lot and giveaways throughout the day. You won’t want to miss out on the fun! The event will begin at 5pm and run through 10pm.

Taste of Market Common | May 6^th

Get out and try samples of all that The Market Common has to offer at the lively Taste of Market Common event! Held in the common area outside of Grand 14 Cinema, this festival will feature decadent samples from the following local restaurants:

Rivertown Music & Craft Beer Festival | May 6^th

Craft beef lovers and families alike are sure to enjoy the lively events at the 31^st Annual Rivertown Music & Craft Beer Festival. Enjoy mouthwatering food samples from local restaurants and local food vendors, in addition to an impressive array of craft beer samples from around the world. Families will also enjoy the classic car show, family-friendly activities, and live entertainment. The lineup for this year’s festival includes performances from Southern Cross, Special Blend, and PaperWork. This event is free to attend; visitors will simply pay for food and beverage samples.

Edwin McCain Live at Salt Air Jam | May 19^th

Lovers of 90’s music, rejoice! Edwin McCain is performing LIVE this May at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex. Known for his romantic flare, Edwin has become a world-renowned performer and travels the world to share his iconic music with fans. Hear hits like “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask For More” in addition to catchy covers. This outdoor concert will kick off at 7pm at the Sports Complex Amphitheater. Pops In The Park: A Salute To America | May 20^th

Enjoy lively, patriotic themed music and the beautiful spring weather at the 3^rd annual Pops in the Park celebration. Hosted by the North Myrtle Beach Community Band, the evening will begin with an opening performance from The Stardusters BIG Band, followed by the band performance, which will include elements of swing, opera, and plenty of patriotic flare. Guests are invited to bring out blankets and chairs and enjoy this free concert from 5:30pm – 7pm at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex amphitheater.  

World Famous Blue Crab Festival | May 20^th – 21^st

This annual event is popular among visitors and locals alike and features tons of fresh and creative seafood dishes with a particular emphasis on blue crabs, a regional delicacy. With the highly anticipated Panera Bread finally open for business and the construction of RIPTYDZ Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar soon coming, there is no doubt that the Grand Strand is booming with several new and adventurous restaurants. Along with all of these new restaurants, there are rumors of a second Wicked Tuna restaurant opening up on Ocean Boulevard near the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk – stay tuned for updates!

New Area Attractions

Besides the opening of new restaurants, there are also several new attractions to the area that are sure to keep people of all ages entertained while in town! Some of the new attractions include:

Pirate Ship Adventures in Murrells Inlet: This recent addition to the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk has been a huge hit with families! The new interactive pirate ship is a true adventure where children come to experience the magic of sailing away in search of sunken treasure.

The Track Recreation Center: This new family recreation center is a one-stop action-packed fun for the whole family. The Track features two multi-level elevated go-kart tracks, a rookie track, a kiddie track, and an expansive indoor family arcade.

Children’s Museum & Library: The downtown Myrtle Beach area has plans for a brand new area for children. The new museum and library will combine the existing Chapin Library and the Children’s Museum of South Carolina into the innovative new space.

East Coast BrewBoat: The Murrells Inlet MarshWalk is getting an exciting new attractions this spring! The East Coast BrewBoat is an 8-person, foot powered paddle boat experience where guests are invited to bring their own beverages and snacks for a one of a kind inlet experience.

Two other local attractions that offer year-round frights will also be open and ready to impress during their time to shine. Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, located in the downtown portion of Myrtle Beach, will be open all month long serving up screams by the minute. This live action haunted house offers a variety of professional actors and animatronic props that will pop out when you least expect it. Additionally, the Outbreak attraction at the Hollywood Wax Museum – a new addition to the local attraction lineup – will also be open. This zombie apocalypse experience is unlike anything in the area and is a must for zombie fans!

Boardwalk Fright Nights | Downtown Myrtle Beach | Ongoing

Head to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk any weekend in October to experience zombies up close and personal. That’s right – the entire boardwalk area transforms into something out of an apocalyptic movie and the undead will be roaming the streets. Don’t worry though – they are friendly zombies available for photo opps and aren’t after your brains. Guests can also enjoy discounts at all of the downtown haunted attractions and the Myrtle Beach zipline. This event takes place every Friday and Saturday in October from 5pm – 10pm.

The Haunted Forest | Broadway Grand Prix | Ongoing

This ongoing Halloween event is not for the faint of heart. Broadway Grand Prix will host The Haunted Forest every day in October at dusk and proceeds from the attraction will benefit BackPack Buddies and Help 4 Kids. The terrifying adventure lasts 25 minutes to tour and will leave you shaking in fear! This attraction is not recommended for children under the age of 10. Call (843) 995-3890 for more information.

Grand Strand Halloween Festival | October 22^nd | X Sports Gym

Gather your little goblins and head across the waterway to the X Sports Gym for a safe and spooky indoor trick-or-treat experience. This free event is ideal for families and is a great way to get in the Halloween spirit! Guests can enjoy face-painting, inflatables, meet and greet sessions with costume characters, games, costume contests, and much more. The Halloween festival will run from 11am – 5pm.

Trunk of Treat | October 22^nd | WonderWorks

WonderWorks is hosting this year’s community Trunk or Treat event at their Broadway at the Beach location. This free event will run from 10am – 3pm and promises to be plenty of fun for the whole family! Guests can enjoy carousel rides, the petting zoo, fire truck and big rig tours, bouncy house fun, and plenty of trick-or-treating – of course!

Boo Bash | Children’s Museum of SC | October 28^th

Our littlest guests are sure to enjoy the lively Halloween activities at the Children’s Museum of South Carolina. The museum is hosting its annual Boo Bash from 5:30pm – 8pm on Friday, October 29th. The bash will include Halloween games, a costume contest, snacks, giveaways, and a stunning “Magic of Science” show. Guests will also get to explore all of the exciting museum exhibits! Fall Festival & Haunted Castle | Huntington Beach State Park | October 28^th & 29^th

Guests of all ages will find plenty to do at the annual Atalaya Fall Festival. The event includes two separate haunted attractions – a not-so scary mazy of rooms in the castle, perfect for the younger guests, and a terrifying haunted castle, appropriate for the bravest guests. Additionally, guests can enjoy live entertainment, a bonfire and s’mores station, carnival games and crafts, spooky cartoons on the big screen, and much more. Trick-or-Treating | Broadway at the Beach | October 31^st

This bustling outdoor attraction, conveniently located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, is hosting a family friendly trick-or-treating event on Monday, October 31st. Enjoy face painting, roaming street entertainment, and free treats for all between 4:30 – 6:30pm. Dress to impress as there will also be costume contests and a children’s costume parade. This event is free to attend.

Trick-or-Treating | Market Common | October 31^st

Market Common will be hosting a festive Halloween celebration appropriate for ghouls and goblins of any age on Halloween Night – Monday, October 31^st. Participating stores will be handing out candy for dressed trick-or-treaters and there will be complimentary carriage rides and live music for all to enjoy. Other local restaurants will be featuring spooky specials throughout the evening if you need a bite to eat. The fun kicks off at 5pm and runs through 7pm.

Howl-O-Scream | North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex | October 29^th

If you are in the mood for a change of scenery, gather the clan and head north to the brand new North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex on Halloween evening. This scenic outdoor venue will transform into a spooky scare-free zone with plenty of activities for families. Guests can enjoy hayrides, pumpkin picking and decorating, trick-or-treating, games, costume contests, and much more. This event is $5 / vehicle and runs form 5pm – 8pm at the Sports Complex.

Here's our rundown of Myrtle Beach weather throughout the year:

Myrtle Beach Spring (March – May) 

Though Myrtle Beach winters are rather mild compared to more northern states, things really start to perk up around March when spring rolls around. The temperatures are quite agreeable, with daily averages in the 60’s-70’s and the forecast typically includes a mix of sunny days and some spring showers.

Spring is a popular time of year for spring break vacations, Easter weekend getaways, and our St Patrick’s Day celebrations. Additionally, many Myrtle Beach attractions that close for the winter re-open their doors to greet springtime guests. 

Myrtle Beach Summer (June – August) 

Most beach visitors are familiar with Myrtle Beach summers. Abundant sunshine, warm temperatures, and the occasional beach thunderstorm are the top three things you can expect during your summer vacation. Temperatures are typically in the high 80’s – low 90’s during the day and mid-70’s during the evening hours, making it easy to soak up the sun during the day and hit the town at night. Be sure to pack plenty of sunscreen and beach toys if you are heading to our coastline during the summer! 

Summer is the most popular time of year for beach vacations. The fall season in Myrtle Beach is often considered the most underrated time of year to visit. The weather is fantastic with temperatures typically staying within the 70’s and 80’s and far fewer rain showers than any other time of the year. Hotel prices are typically lower, the weather is still perfect for hitting the beach, and there are tons of local events and festivals to enjoy.

The fall is a popular time for Labor Day weekend getaways or for extended Thanksgiving vacations. Visitors often enjoy the empty beaches, the plethora of fun local festivals, and enjoying outdoor dining and entertainment at local restaurants. 

Myrtle Beach Winter (December – February)

The beach begins to cool off at the end of the fall season and temperatures can get quite chilly! Most days stay above freezing, though we have gotten as low as the single digits before. Still, temperatures in the 30’s and 40’s are what you can expect if you are in the area during the holiday months. Hotel prices are quite reasonable during this season and many “snowbird” guests get great deals on condos while they escape the brutal snow-season up north.

Winter vacationers are typically in town for a snowbird vacation or are enjoying a holiday getaway. Winter beach visitors like to take advantage of Myrtle Beach's indoor attractions and lively holiday related entertainment and events.

Brew at the Zoo | Brookgreen Gardens | September 24th

Get out and enjoy the fall weather at the annual Brookgreen Gardens Brew at the Zoo night. This fun festival will host 30 regional craft beer vendors and guests will have the opportunity to taste a few or try them all. Event guests can also enjoy live entertainment by Bullfrog and tasty snacks while they visit the various animal exhibits throughout the zoo. The event will also feature a silent auction that will benefit the gardens. Tickets are only $35 per person for members or $40 per person for the public and include a signature tasting glass. 12th Annual Irish Italian International Festival | Main Street North Myrtle Beach | September 24th

A seemingly unlikely combination, the Annual Irish Italian Festival has become a local favorite each year – and it’s not hard to figure out why! This tasty arts and food fest offers the finest Italian and Irish food around, in addition to tons of kid-friendly entertainment and adult-friendly beverages. Scheduled events include spaghetti eating content, street performers, live music stages, arts and crafts vendors, dance competitions, and much more. Where else can you eat homemade meatballs with a side of Guinness? This is a rain or shine event scheduled from 10am – 4pm along Main Street in North Myrtle Beach and admission is free to the public.

St. John’s Greek Festival | St. John’s Church | September 29^th – October 2^nd

Tasty homemade Greek treats, lively music, and handmade artisan crafts are just a few things that visitors and locals alike look forward to at the annual St. John’s Greek Festival. Guests can get their fill of just about any traditional Greek cuisine – moussaka, spanakopita, pastisio, dolmathakia, souvlaki, gyros, baklava, and so much more. The festival will also offer several local arts and crafts booths, live Greek entertainment and dancing, and a full kids area.
