Enjoy a day away from the crowds of Myrtle Beach and head south for day of relaxing fun in Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island. Murrells Inlet’s Marsh Walk

Enjoy the famous Inlet views while enjoying some of the area’s best seafood. The Marsh Walk is connected by a boardwalk right along the water making it easy to go from one place to another without ever getting back into your car. Most of the restaurants offer outdoor seating so you can take in the spectacular views and seaside breeze. The Marsh Walk is a great place to get drinks at night and enjoy live music. Popular spots include: Wicked Tuna, Wahoo’s Fish House, and Captain Dave’s Dockside Restaurant, but these are just a few of what the Marsh Walk has to offer.

While you’re enjoying the Marsh Walk head to Crazy Sister Marina where you can rent a boat or Jet Ski and have some fun in the water. Visitors can also paddle around in a kayak or paddleboat – a great way to enjoy a little friendly competition with the family. For something different, try your hand at catching dinner aboard the Inlet Princess where they offer inshore and offshore fishing. You can also go on a pirate ship cruise or a dolphin tour and see these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

 

Brookgreen Gardens

Enjoy 15 square miles of the beautifully landscaped gardens that any nature enthusiast would love. Located south of Murrells Inlet, these gardens are decorated with handcrafted sculptures. While you’re there, visit the Lowcounty Zoo and see local animals in their habitats or step inside the Butterfly Gardens and see these amazing insets land right on you as you walk through.

 

Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island

Visit the Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island for a great local shopping experience. The Hammock Shops have been in business for over 75 years and welcome local artisans with their handcrafted clothes, accessories, and gourmet food items. The venue is famous for handcrafted hammocks as well. Shop in this unique setting and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

Blues-A-Palooza – Every Saturday in January
Love live music? Head to the House of Blues, Myrtle Beach’s premier live music venue, to enjoy the soulful sounds of local jazz artists. This casual event takes place each Saturday during the month and will highlight a variety of local talent. The music starts at 9pm and goes until 11pm and is free to the public! Dick’s Last Resort Elvis Birthday Bash – January 8th
For a unique night out on the town, head north to Barefoot Landing for the festive event that honors the birthday of the King himself – Elvis. This annual event always draws a crowd and is fun for the whole family! There will be live music and an Elvis karaoke contest with a $200 cash prize. Restaurant Week – January 9th – 19th
Restaurant Week South Carolina is an eleven day state wide event that highlights the unique offerings of local restaurants around the state. Participating restaurants create special menus at discounted prices for this event and encourage visitors and locals to get out and try something new. Improv Musical Show – January 25th
Carolina Improv is proud to host a new event for the New Year – the Improv Musical Show. As the name suggests, this show will feature trained improv comedians who will integrate audience suggestions into musical numbers. Pajamas & Putt Putt – January 25th
Don’t fret over what to wear to this event – just throw on your favorite pajamas and head to Captain’s Hook mini-golf for a night of family fun. This Peter Pan themed putt putt park is hosting this annual event to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Registration begins at 10am and the games begin at 11am.
