Festival of Trees | Ripley’s Aquarium | November 6th – December 31st

Celebrate Christmas under the sea at the Ripley’s Aquarium. Drop by this nautical venue, located at Broadway at The Beach, to see over 50 trees that are ornately decorated to and scattered throughout the facility. There will be one tree to represent each state along with several traditional holiday themed trees. The famous Myrtle Beach Boardwalk will come to life this holiday season with festive decorations and lively events all month long! Night of a Thousand Candles – December 5th – 21st

The popular outdoor venue comes to life with thousands of professionally placed Christmas lights and over 5,500 hand-lit candles that provide a soft glow to the paths and statues. Enjoy a cup of hot cider and you peruse the gardens and delight in the sound of carolers as they gleefully belt out Christmas tunes. Inlet Affair catering will also be providing dinner plates for purchase meaning you won’t have to leave the gardens when you work up an appetite. 12th Annual Christmas Towne | Myrtle Beach Convention Center | December 13th

The biggest Christmas celebration of the season kicks off Sunday, December 13th at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. A favorite among locals and visitors alike, the Christmas Towne includes tons of family events like face painting and crafts, amusement styles rides and inflatables, complimentary photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and the official tree lighting ceremony for the city of Myrtle Beach. Get up close and personal with the big man himself at one of these exciting breakfast events! You will have the chance to get in a quick picture and even submit a few last minute requests. Breakfast with Santa events include:

·       Market Common, December 5th, 12th, & 19th: Santa will make appearances three times throughout the month of December at several popular Market Common locations. Dates and locations include: December 5th at Tupelo Honey Café, December 12th at Travina Italian Kitchen, and December 19th at Gordon Biersch. The Christmas Show features colorful costumes and an award-winning lineup of performers including Calvin Gilmore, Rita Gumm, Brad Long, Christie Templeton, and many more. Guests will be wowed by the amazing performances, the horse drawn sleigh, and even real snow! Carolina Improv is proud to offer two exciting shows for the holiday season – the Carolina Girls Christmas Show and The Naughty List. The Carolina Girls are originally from the north but are adapting nicely to our southern ways… kind of. Kick back and enjoy a few laughs as the ladies discuss and mock a few of our favorite southern traditions. The Naughty List is an interactive improv show that uses audience participation to figure out if you’ve been naughty or nice. The holidays are just around the corner and the Grand Strand is busy gearing up for this festive season. There are so many fun holiday themed events in the area and parades in particular are a popular draw. There are several holiday themed parades in the area – meaning you will have plenty of chances to catch one during your stay in Myrtle Beach. Whether you are enjoying an extended holiday stay in the area or you are planning for a longer snowbird vacation, be sure to check out of the area’s Christmas parades!

 

Intracoastal Christmas Regatta Boat Parade | November 28th | 5pm

christmas parade santaThe Intracoastal Christmas Regatta, which takes place each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, has become an area tradition for many. The parade begins at the Little River Inlet at 5pm and slowly floats down the Intracoastal Waterway, finally ending at Dock Holidays Marina around 7pm. Watch as boats of all shapes and sizes decked out in Christmas décor pass by and light up the river! There are several public viewing spots along the route, so bundle up the whole family and make this a part of your holiday tradition.

 

Ripley’s / Broadway at the Beach | December 5th | 11am

Head to Broadway at the Beach on Saturday, December 7th for the city of Myrtle Beach’s only official holiday parade! The parade includes tons of local floats and harbors a very family oriented atmosphere. The fun starts at 11am as the parade begins near the Hard Rock Café and winds around the complex, finally ending near WonderWorks. There will be tons of entertainment in Broadway after the parade, so stick around for an afternoon full of fun!

 

City of North Myrtle Beach | December 5th | 5:30pm

Venture to North Myrtle Beach to see their annual holiday parade. The parade route begins on Main Street and goes all the way down to Ocean Boulevard and includes a variety of local floats, walking groups, and street performers. This parade starts at 5:30 and ends at approximately 7:30.

 

Murrells Inlet | December 6th | 12pm

The Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade also takes place on a Sunday afternoon and is a great option if you cannot make it to a Saturday parade. This cheerful event begins at 3:00 pm and rides down highway 17 business, passing by the popular MarshWalk area. The parade will include a variety of local floats, marching bands, motorcycles, and more!

 

City of Surfside Beach | December 12th | 2pm

If you can’t make it to one of the Sunday parades – fret not! Just head south to the quaint town of Surfside Beach and participate in their annual Sunday celebration. The parade begins at 2: oo and winds down Ocean Boulevard. The event will include plenty of themed floats, walking groups, and an appearance from Santa himself!
