Things To Do In Myrtle Beach

We here at the Coral Beach, Sea Crest and Holiday Inn-“At the Pavilion” know firsthand that the fun that Myrtle Beach has to offer is positively endless. Rain or shine, summer or fall, there is plenty to keep you and your family happy and busy all vacation long!

Headed for a day on the beach? Take the kids on a banana boat ride or see Myrtle Beach from a different angle and go parasailing at Downwind Sails or Ocean Watersports. Both are conveniently located off of Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.  You could also spend your afternoon or evening at one of the numerous parks or attractions along the Grand Strand. Or you could walk around Broadway at the Beach and enjoy dining, shopping and attractions for the whole family, including miniature golf, the IMAX theatre, Ripley’s Aquarium and the Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

For those who just want to kick back, relax and enjoy a good show, you certainly have your pick! Choose from The Carolina Opry, Alabama Theater, The Palace Theater, The Dixie Stampede or Medieval Times.

Even though we’re drawing closer to the  end of summer, there are still countless things to do and visit along the Strand, including arts and crafts shows, the upcoming, Blue Grass Festival and the Beach Ball Classic.

There are several arts and crafts festivals in the coming months including 34th Annual Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival, which will be held September 25-27 at Huntington Beach State Park near Murrells Inlet, the Dickens Christmas Show at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center November 12-15 and the 2009 Springmaid Winter Arts Festival, which will be held December 5-7.

Also, in October, the Market Common will be hosting its Second Annual Oktoberfest. This year, the German festival will take place on Saturday, October 2 and will feature The Reingold Band, food and beer selections and specials from all of the Market Common restaurants and bars and host of children's activities.

In December Myrtle Beach is home to the Beach Ball Classic where 16 of the finest boys high school basketball teams and 16 of the girls finest basketball teams from around the country will compete for a Championship Trophy.  This 10 day event has all the action a sports fan could ask for with teams for the 2009 games coming from Neveda, Texas, Wisconson, Kentucky, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.  Beach Ball Classic is December 18-31.

With so much to do, Myrtle Beach promises to have everyone in your family sleeping like babies at the end of fun-filled day.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Myrtle Beach?

Until next time, feel free to let me know your thoughts on what’s happening at any of our three resorts.
